Visit Château Doyac in Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne
Bordeaux
Winery
Acquired in 1998, this magnificent 30-hectare vineyard, almost in one piece on the limestone plateau, is composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The average age of the vineyard is 20 years.
Important renovations have been carried out on the vines as well as on the cellars. Following the expansion of the vineyard in 2009, Max de Pourtalès built a new conditioning cellar and a new barrel cellar, in order to optimize the wine making process.
My philosophy," says Max de Pourtalès, "is not to make wines that are too extracted as the whole world knows how to do...but on the contrary, to obtain fine and elegant wines. This does not prevent us from having substance, but we must respect balance and freshness, in short, everything that characterizes the great wines of Bordeaux.
