La Cité du Vin is both a museum dedicated to wine culture in the world and a space for promoting French cultural heritage, it is a unique place to visit during your stay in Bordeaux . Visiting the Cité du vin in Bordeaux will allow you to learn more about wine, from the history of the vine to the tasting of Bordeaux wine, including the making of wine or its multiple variations. The first floor houses temporary exhibitions, a reading room and tasting workshops. The Thomas Jefferson auditorium, on the ground floor, is the room where shows, concerts and screenings take place. On the second floor, a space of 3,000 m² dedicated to the discovery of wine and its influence on the civilizations of the world. We give you a new generation audio guide, with 8 languages available. Two self-guided tours are offered: one for adults and one for children. This floor offers an immersion in the world of wine, explored as part of the cultural, universal and living heritage where history, geography, geology, arts and oenology are given pride of place. The tour itinerary consists of 20 thematic spaces. At the top of the museum, enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and the 360° panoramic view of the city of Bordeaux and the Port of the Moon: you are at the belvedere of the museum, 35 meters above the ground. In reality, it's much more than a free glass of wine: it's a real tasting, where you can choose the wine from a selection of French wines and wines from around the world.
