Visit Domaine Combe Blanche in Les Matelles

La Combe Blanche, a small 12 ha estate, created from 1981 by Guy Vanlancker, who set out to restore this old vineyard by replanting a wide variety of grape varieties, Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Roussanne in the AOC zone and Pinot Noir and Tempranillo in the IGP zone. The estate is located on the heights of Cru La Livinière at the edge of the causse on the slopes of the hamlet of Calamiac. The soils at an average altitude of 200m are mainly clay-limestone in the AOC part in southern exposure, and on colder soils, clay-marly exposed north for the others. The soil and climatic qualities of these lands make Calamiac an exceptional terroir for the production of great wines.
The estate has been in organic conversion since July 2018 and is preparing for a big change for 2020 with the takeover of the estate by Ambroise (one of Guy's sons), a change of cellar and cellar and a restructuring of the vineyard forever more quality.
2020 is also a year of quality recognition, with the Hachette Guide's Coup de Coeur award for the La Galine cuvée awarded for the second consecutive year.
