What to do in Bolgheri?

The main grape varieties of the Bolgheri appellation are Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese, but also for white wines, Vermentino, Sauvignon and Viognier.

The appellation extends over approximately 1,300 hectares, you will find alluvial soils, covered with rolled pebbles, volcanic rocks, clay-sandy and loamy soils.

Small specificity for Bolgheri red wines, before fully enjoying the flavors and taste of Bolgheri DOC wines, the aging time is at least 4 years. For Vin Santo and Occhio di Pernice, the aging time is a minimum of 5 years. Bolgheri Sassicaia must mature in the cellar for at least 24 months in oak barrels and 6 months in bottles before marketing.
