The Passion for a unique territory, the Culture of the native vines of Salento, the Tradition of viticulture that is handed down from father to son.
Already two millennia ago Horace, Pliny and Martial exalted the harmonious and structured flavors of the wines of Messapia (now Salento). Then the Aragonese Viceroys of the Kingdom of Naples in the fifteenth century AD they decided to protect the fertile Apulian lands from the attacks of the Saracen invaders, building systems of watchtowers positioned to guard the coasts.
Torleanzi is one of those towers and still today, as then, it proudly guards our vineyards which we have handed down and renewed for generations to offer the maximum authenticity and expression of the Salento area.
“We are rooted in our land and maintain a deep bond with the tradition of local viticulture while focusing on innovation and the development of the most modern agricultural technologies”.
This is the path followed by Giuseppe and Luigi Ciotola, agricultural entrepreneurs who have made an art even before a trade from the wine-growing vocation inherited from their ancestors. In fact, they are the great-grandchildren of Grand Officer Antonio Valletta from San Pietro Vernotico, a well-known winemaker and founder of the company. The Estates are dominated by the imposing and historic “Torre Leanzi” from the 15th century (hence the name “Torleanzi”) and reach a total extension of almost one hundred hectares.
