The black nebbiolo grape produces a tannic and fruity wine that can be kept for a very long time.

To the east of the North region, Merlot and Cabernet grape varieties give fruity and lively wines. In Tuscany wine region, Chianti Classico is one of the wines classified as Vino Nobile Di Montalcino which also a famous red wine. In southern Italy, the Puglia region is the largest producer with almost 20% of all Italian bottles. Sicily has a lot of small productions and very good white grape varieties.
