Located ten minutes from downtown Reims, the Crayères district is full of champagne cellars listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Vranken Pommery invites you to come and discover its magnificent estate and visit its prestigious cellars!
As you enter a huge hall, you will be amazed by the size of the Lightning that awaits you, on the left. Opposite, you will discover the many steps to descend (116 steps) to reach 30 meters underground, in real underground galleries, dug at the time by the Gallo-Romans.
Stroll through the 18 kilometer cellars and travel through the ages. Madame Pommery baptized each underground alley of the Domaine Pommery with the name of the towns with which she had dealt in business, to pay tribute to her clients from all over the world. Know that the cellars house no less than 25 million bottles, stored, including the oldest vintages of Domaine Pommery. These are carefully kept in the wine cellar, being extremely rare vintages. The Pommery champagne house, in Reims, puts on an annual exhibition of contemporary art in its chalk pits, L'Expérience Pommery.
Also live a real experience at La Villa Demoiselle Reims which is a jewel of Art Nouveau and Art Deco.
Ideal visit therefore, for history buffs and those looking for an idea of a getaway around Paris!
An olfactory, taste and visual experience, forever etched in your memory!

How to visit the Pommery cellar?
It is advisable to cover yourself before descending even in the summer season. Free parking allows you to park inside.
You can freely visit the premises at any time using an application (#Expérience Pommery on the App store or Experience Pommery on Google Play). Wifi is free (for fifteen minutes) to download the app. Once downloaded, it does not need a network to work.
Eating at the Pommery Refectory
The visit would not be completely complete without mentioning the Refectory. A new place, again, open to the public and which allows you to take a lunch break between visits to cellars, exhibitions or the Villa Demoiselle. It is indeed a restaurant, "which does not aim to create new flavors, but on the contrary to dive into culinary history". In the Refectory, we reinvent dishes that sometimes find their origin several centuries ago.
The styles of Pommery champagnes
Since 2014, the vines have been cultivated with respect for the environment, and the property has 2 labels: HVE (high environmental value) and "Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne ". The Champagnes are always produced according to the traditional Champagne method which had been established by Madame Pommery, where the grapes have the greatest possibility of expressing themselves. Today, it is Clément Pierlot, Cellar Master, who takes care of the blending, with the oenologists of the House. Today there are 14 cuvées in the Pommery range, grouped under 4 different cuvée names, then available: POP, Brut, Louise and Clos Pompadour.
POP Vintages
Available in 4 cuvées, the POP cuvées only exist in 20 cl bottles. The POP cuvée is a blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, the POP Rose is a rosé champagne.
Brut cuvées
The Brut Royal cuvée is the signature of Maison Pommery, an elegant, lively and harmonious mouth, it is also available in rosé, thanks to a blend with red wine, vinified with Pinot Noir, it is a very subtle rosé, very lively and fresh. The Blanc de Blancs cuvée is, as its name suggests, made only from the only white grape variety in Champagne: Chardonnay.
The Louise vintages
The Cuvée Louise, made in homage to Louise Pommery, from grapes coming exclusively from 3 Champagne grands crus: Avize, Aÿ and Cramant. It is a very buttery wine, with gourmet notes of biscuits.
Les Clos Pompadour
This cuvée is only available in magnum. From 25 hectares of vines within the Maison Pommery, this champagne releases magnificent notes of citrus fruits and white flowers, the mouth is full and very long, fresh and complex.
