Adega do Vulcao is pleased to announce the opening of the wine tasting attached to Adega in S. Mateus on the island of Pico.

Rare and precious, our wines are the result of indigenous grapes produced from soils with unique and opposing personalities, between the volcanic ashes of Capelinhos and the basalt mantle of Lajido da Criação Velha. Pico and Faial, two islands, two different volcanic terroirs for a brand that creates absolutely unique Azorean wines.

We use the most natural methods possible throughout the production process, to create authentic and exclusive wines with a strong sense of identity. We follow a natural winemaking method to preserve the quality and characteristics of the grapes. We only use endogenous yeasts and top quality equipment, cement tanks and untreated oak and clay barrels. Our goal is to create wines that are an authentic expression of the terroir.
