About the winery

Adega do Vulcão owns the only vineyard on Faial Island: 7 hectares of native grape varieties planted in the ashes of the last eruption of the Capelinhos volcano in 1957.

In the heart of this exclusive vineyard, we have restored an old winery that offers a unique setting on the island, with spectacular views over the ocean and the volcano.

This intimate space now hosts our Premium Tasting. The experience includes an immersive journey through the history of Adega do Vulcão, a detailed explanation of the 7 wines that make up the tasting, a short guided walk through the vineyards, and a complimentary platter of local cheeses.
