The Medolago Albani winery is located on the hills of Redona in the municipality of Trescore Balneario, at the entrance to the Cavallina Valley, along the Bergamo-Lovere state road.
The 32 hectares of vineyards enjoy optimal exposure in a south-facing valley. The calcareous-clay soils and the excellent microclimate have favored vine cultivation for centuries.
The church and cellar, the nucleus of an ancient hermitage with agricultural activity, date back to the early 16th century. The current manor house is an excellent example of 18th-century architecture.
The area's longstanding winemaking tradition is also evidenced by the magnificent fresco "Christ of the Vineyards" painted by Lorenzo Lotto in 1524 in the Suardi Chapel in Trescore, a couple of kilometers from the Medolago Albani winery, which, in turn, houses a precious canvas from the Lotto school, dated 1536, depicting Saint Catherine of Alexandria.
The constant replanting of vineyards with prized clones and modern winemaking equipment allow the Medolago Albani winery to renew its tradition while continuing to produce distinctive wines. A member of the Lombardy Wine Tourism Movement and the Consortium for the Protection of Valcalepio DOC, the Medolago Albani winery is equipped to welcome individual or group visits by appointment.
