Our wine shop is located in the Walderdorffer Hof at Fahrgasse 5 in Limburg an der Lahn.
The Walderdorffer Hof is a significant historical monument and the largest remaining medieval manor house in the city. The complex originated as a medieval residential tower dating from 1359, which still stands today. The first records of the property date back to 1435; from 1539 onwards, the estate was owned by the Walderdorff family. In the 17th century, the manor was expanded in the Baroque style, notably by the Italian fortress architect Antonio Rigi. The building served various purposes, including as a brewery, a blacksmith's workshop, and as the first German headquarters of the Pallottine Fathers.
Today, the complex is owned by the Reinhard & Sonja Ernst Foundation and, following a comprehensive and award-winning renovation, has been adapted for contemporary mixed-use development.
