Domaine Jean Pierre Riviere

Beaujolais Lachassagne, France
Domaine Jean Pierre Riviere
Our Domaine is above all a family story.

Winemakers since 1682, our ancestors have cultivated the vine for several centuries, but it was Jean-Pierre, our father who was the first generation to leave polyculture to devote himself to the passion of the vine and wine. Jean-Pierre and our mother Colette introduced in 1984 in Lachassagne with three hectares of vines.

Our Estate is gradually growing to reach 25 hectares, including 7 hectares at the Château de Saint-Trys on pretty clay-limestone soils, typical of the Golden Stones.
In the 1990s, our Estate began a reasoned production process, with among other things the grassing of the vines and launched the first cuvées matured in oak barrels. We, their children grow up, all have our studies in wines.

After training as an oenologist in Changins (Switzerland) and a trip to New Zealand and California, Alexandre joined our parents for the 2013 harvest.

In 2017, the Estate began construction of its new vinification vat which it inaugurated for the harvest in September 2018. Meanwhile Marine is preparing to return to the Estate to help Jean-Pierre, Colette and Alexandre to develop direct sales . The desire to introduce our country to the Golden Stones, our profession and our wines, we naturally push to create wine tourism activities and events.

2019 is a great year for our Estate since it is certified "Terra Vitis", environmental label, unique reference in sustainable viticulture. In view of the efforts made in terms of biodiversity and agro-ecological measures, our estate is also certified High Environmental Value 3.

All you have to do is come and discover us and our wines in the little "French Tuscany" of Beaujolais des Pierres Dorées.
