Algarve Winery Estômbar
Morgado do Quintão is a large family estate restored in the early 1800s, located between Silves, Monchique and Lagoa, in the Algarve, Portugal, having been founded in 1810 by the Count of Silves and still in the possession of his descendants. It is a family story in which the passion for the countryside, gastronomy and artistic creation merges with the love for local heritage, beauty and conservation.

The property's vineyards are some of the oldest in the Algarve and it is from there that our award-winning wines are born, created in partnership with winemaker Joana Maçanita. Our wines are in the Algarve, Lisbon, London, Paris and New York and take the knowledge and flavors of the Algarve far and wide.

Seizing an opportunity, and responding to an appeal from the old vines, in just four years we went from 2,000 to 20,000 bottles produced annually. Today, our winemaking is deeply rooted in our attempt to showcase the richness of the Algarve's terroir and to mark its identity in the production of some of the region's most prized wines.

We invite you to sit at the farmers' table and taste our crops so that you can experience our history first hand and help contribute to our future, so that we can bring a different light back to the Algarve.

At our table (With family)

We had a wonderful time! Not only is it great to have great conversations with other people, the meal itself was delicious and there was lots of food and wine. You can also purchase wine by the bottle after the tasting. Vegetarian friendly!

About the people

Filipe Caldas de Vasconcellos are the fourth generation of Morgado do Quintão and today constitute the current guardianship of the estate inherited from their mother in 2016. Their global perspective lends a unique spirit to their commitment to breaking with the status quo and bringing winemaking back to its forgotten regional roots. Trying to shape a new perspective on Algarve wine, his unfailing and resilient passion for the land and its heritage merges with his love for local history.
