An exclusive encounter with those who create the wine every day! Accompanied by the Poggio Le Coste Winemaker, you will experience an authentic and engaging journey that will reveal all the secrets of Barbera, the iconic grape variety of Monferrato. Starting with the observation of the vineyards, we will discover how agronomic choices and the care of the vines influence the soul of the wine, learning to read the land through its fruit. In the cellar, the experience will become even more immersive with a direct tasting of the wine from the barrels: a rare moment to closely understand the evolution of aging in wood. The tour concludes in the tasting room, where the wine tells its full maturity through a selection of Poggio Le Coste labels: Monferrato Chiaretto, Barbera d'Asti, Barbera d'Asti Superiore, and Moscato d'Asti. To accompany the tasting, a delicious Monferrato snack with typical local specialties, for a convivial finale that unites knowledge, passion, and tradition.

About the host

The history of the prestigious Poggio Le Coste estate, custodian of an unparalleled cultural heritage, is closely linked to local traditions handed down over the centuries.
When the Romans conquered Piedmont (1st century BC), they began to increase the cultivation of prized varieties.

Poggio Le Coste was a rural district, carefully defended over the centuries by its founders and noble families against numerous enemies.
The estate, located in the municipality of Asti, in the hamlet of Portacomaro Stazione, at the gateway to the Monferrato region, offers a reminder of the important presence in the Asti and Monferrato areas of the Order of Knights Templar, founded in 1128 by Bernard of Clairvaux to protect pilgrims. Having belonged to several noble families, including the Buneis (Buneo, 15th-17th centuries) and the Capra Counts of Azzano (17th-18th centuries), Castello del Poggio's last owner was Carlo Giuseppe, Count of Azzano and Bishop of Acqui.
The latter bequeathed his property and possessions to the Acqui hospital, which in turn sold them, dividing them among many farming families.

The estate today is the fruit of the Zonin family's wealth of experience, knowledge, and love for the vineyard.
Purchased in 1985, it extends over 120 hectares, 70 of which form a picturesque amphitheater of rows at an average altitude of 250 to 350 meters.
