If you are in for a great personalised wine tour near Frankfurt, this could be it: Bottlestops will pick you up in a comfortable van and take you out for a day filled with tastings, views and of course plenty of fun and facts, and insights - in Rheingau, the one of the most historic wine regions near Frankfurt. Your experienced guide is a local native, expert to the region and happy to chat about anything wine, food, and travel in Germany. As the day proceeds you will increase your understanding of the regions particularities, the history, climate, geography and most of all its key wine varietal: Riesling (dry and some sweet if you like). If there is anything you may still want to know, do probe guide - or pick our brains us for some tips for your onwards journey - last chance before we safely arrive back at your accommodation.

We pick you up in our BottleStops luxury van - and gently cruise towards our destination, Rheingau (unless you request at different wine region). We will use the time to give you a broad overview of Germany as a wine producing country - or exchange some wine trivia with you :-).

Tasting and visit at a historic Monastery

Get an understanding of 2000 years of winemaking history in Germany... with the monastery Eberbach taking a leading role starting from the 1000's . We visit the historic premises, enjoy the views of the famous Steinberg vineyard, and taste 6 wines in the monastery's tasting room.

Lunch in Rüdesheim - medieval center of Rheingau

Enjoy a freshly cooked lunch, a cheese or a local charcuterie board in one of the regions best tasting rooms (note lunch is not included). While we wait for our food to get ready, we will taste 5 wines based on YOUR preference - there are 160 wines to choose from, and by now you may have an idea on what you would like to taste. We will help you make the choice.

Tasting at a Family Vineyard

This step is a wild card - we will make appointment and choose the winery based on availability. We guarantee a top-of-the line winery, typically member of the prestigious VDP association, and a flight of 6 excellent wines.

Return to your accommodation (or to your onwards connection)

We cruise back to your accommodation, or bring you to the airport, or train station as agreed in advance. Ask us to help with tips or reservations for restaurants, hotels or ground transportation.
