Quinta do Ameal

Quinta do Ameal, located in the Vinho Verde demarcated region, Lima sub-region, birthplace of the Loureiro grape variety, is a historic estate with records dating back to 1710.

30km from the Atlantic Ocean, Quinta do Ameal offers an 800m river frontage, an altitude ranging from 12 to 53 meters, deep and fertile granitic soils, an average temperature of 14.9 degrees Celsius and 1300 millimeters of rainfall. Of its 30 hectares, 14 are occupied by Loureiro vineyards and 8 by lush forest, where walnut, chestnut and stone pine trees stand out, some of which are over 200 years old. The combination of these characteristics with the Loureiro grape variety results in unique wines, with character and great aging potential.

Quinta do Ameal tourism is a refuge and the starting point for discovering the Lima Valley, as well as the Loureiro grape variety. The Big House and the Vineyard House offer privacy and comfort.
