The origins of Vasques de Carvalho date back to the mid-19th century and the family winery, which always transformed its grape production into fortified wine, selling part to exporters and aging the rest to enhance its value.
However, in 1880, José Vasques de Carvalho, the great-grandfather of one of the current partners, decided not to sell almost all of the year's production, given the exceptional quality of the harvest. This wine has been aged to this day and has been carefully stored in the family's warehouses, becoming their greatest treasure.
On the market as a brand since 2015, Vasques de Carvalho is already recognized as a leading producer of quality Port wines, having even been honored in 2019 with the "Fortified Wine Producer of the Year" award by Grandes Escolhas magazine.
With warehouses in Régua and Pinhão, where the company's entire production process begins and ends, Vasques de Carvalho understands its mission to elevate the perception of the quality of Port Wines, definitively placing them among the world's great wines.
