Real Cave do Cedro was founded in 1951, and its founding family has since developed a deep and complex story: that of the Bairrada terroir, 3 generations of the Aleixo family, the transformed indigenous grape varieties, the passage of time and its effect on winemaking and ageing.
Having told this story many times to many people, it was only natural that the Aleixo Family would expand it into wine tourism, offering visitors a journey through time, not only through storytelling, but also through shared landscapes and wine tastings.
Our goal was to connect people with the times, the place, the winemakers, the work that shapes each bottle of Aleixo Wines.
Our approach to wine tourism is rooted in authenticity and continuous innovation. It began with B2B wine tastings, where invited partners could sample Aleixo Wines. These meetings allowed the Aleixo Family to share their knowledge, winemaking traditions and the unique characteristics of Aleixo Wines. Interest and feedback from our partners motivated the expansion into personalized experiences and, eventually, the inclusion of guided tours of our vineyards, wineries and winemaking process.
In 2022, we introduced the Rare Verticality Experience, featuring wines from different years from 1996 to 2020, to highlight the evolution of our art, which focused on a wine tasting through a selected tasting.
