Located in Vidauban, in the heart of Provence, between Draguignan and Saint-Tropez, the estate covers 680 hectares, including 80 hectares of vineyards and 10 hectares of apple trees.
Began in the 12th century, the history of Domaine d'Astros has seen the succession of the Templars and the Knights of Malta, then a Marseille family, the Maurels, for 9 generations.
4 Historical Monuments are present on the property:
• The Château d'Astros, a 19th-century Italianate castle
• The "Vieux Château d'Astos", a former commandery of the Knights of Malta
• The Chapel of Saint Lambert
• The Aqueducts
Since 2017, the estate has converted to organic farming. The estate is mindful and responsible for its biodiversity. It's a state of mind; it's not just organic because there are no chemical inputs in the soil, it's also because the impact on nature is intended to be limited.
