Passionate about its terroir and great wines, the Trocard family has maintained an exceptional vineyard located in the heart of the Libournais for 15 generations.
Concentrated on a few hectares in the 17th century, the family vineyards experienced a real boost under the impetus of Jean Trocard, who in 1945 gave free rein to his talents as a great winemaker.
Jean-Louis Trocard, his son, took over the estate in 1976 with his wife Elisabeth and gave it a real dimension, developing the area from 20 to 90 hectares of vines.
A lover of Merlot, Jean-Louis Trocard transcends the king grape variety of the right bank of Bordeaux on magnificent terroirs selected in the Pomerol, Lalande de Pomerol, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Lussac Saint-Émilion appellations…
He created one of the first Bordeaux Supérieurs 100% Merlot: Château Trocard Monrepos.
He brings new practices to the vineyard as well as to the cellar, which allows Trocard wines to acquire a very high reputation internationally. The wines from the Trocard vineyards are renowned for their beautiful concentration and great finesse.

Meet the team

On the Right Bank, the Trocard family has lived to the rhythm of the vine for 4 centuries. A first acquisition in 1621, then it was in 1628 that the beautiful wine adventure of the Trocard Family began. At the end of the 18th century, the family met in Artigues de Lussac. The latter will remain forever attached to this place, where it establishes its headquarters, thus maintaining this unfailing historical link to Artigues.
