Wearing her apron, Alice then guides you to our winery, a place where authenticity and quality come together to offer exceptional wines. As the tour unfolds, you will discover the rich history of Château de Citran, a story full of secrets and surprises that will be revealed through a dramatic twist, immersing you in a true journey through time.

About the host

The château has been listed as a historical monument since 2012.

Château Citran is a historic wine estate located near Margaux in the Médoc region. Its emblem is the peacock, visible on its bottle labels and also in the château's vast park where these magnificent birds roam freely.

Since 1996, the Merlaut family, already deeply rooted in the Bordeaux wine world, has managed this splendid estate. Today, Château Citran encompasses 70 hectares of vineyards in the Haut-Médoc appellation, planted with carefully selected grape varieties to thrive in this unique terroir: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.

At Château Citran, tradition and modern techniques come together, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, to create elegant, refined, and exceptionally fine wines.
