Guided winery tour and Terroir Tasting

The road that winds through the hills and valleys of the right bank of the Douro River traces a winding path to Quinta dos Murças – a unique place, rich in history and generous in biodiversity. It was here, between Régua and Pinhão, that the first vertical vineyard in the Douro was planted in 1947. This territory is marked by the presence of eight terroirs, with distinct altitudes and sun exposures, schistous soils, and a climate characteristic of the Douro River valley. The vineyards boast dozens of native grape varieties, entirely organically grown, producing wines with a sense of place.

Despite the verticality of the vineyards, the landscape is also marked by traditional terraces, with water springs, olive groves, orange groves, and almond orchards, in addition to Mediterranean scrubland.

The wine tourism at Quinta dos Murças centers the experience. Comprising the Main House, a shop, a wine cellar and barrel cellar, it offers exclusive wine tastings, trails, walks, picnics and visits to the organic garden.
