Our Montserrat, Food and Wine with Cogwheel Train tour departs from central Barcelona and takes you to the foot of Montserrat. From there, your professional English-speaking local guide will take you on a very scenic ride in the rack railway up to the monastery, to then tour you for an hour around the premises. You will learn everything you need to know about the super rich history of this monastery, followed by another hour of free time for you to invest how you consider best. There’s so much to do up there!

Indulge into an included seasonal full meal with wine before we take you to a local boutique winery, where you will learn everything about our wine country and traditions through a very intimate approach.

Like in almost all our tours, you will taste three fantastic local wines before finishing off a great day outdoors as part of one of our reduced groups. A day to remember!

About the host

Castlexperience Wine Tours offers daily tours to the natural park and monastery of Montserrat, the heart and soul of Catalan cultural tradition.
After a tour filled with an array of activities available for our tourists, we will then go to a winery of the wine region next to Montserrat.
Said winery has a centenarian wine-making tradition, and during our visit our local guides will provide a walk-through the history of the place, culminating with a wine tasting paired with local gastronomy.

Cogwheel train ride

Our group will embark in a Cgwheel train departing from the bottom of Montserrat mountain. The rack railway goes through the peculiar silhouette of the mountain and allows you to enjoy privileged views of the mountain. Through the panoramic views of the train, you can see the great beauty of the landscape that surrounds us from Monistrol to Montserrat.
