2. Church of San Domenico<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Close to the Cathedral, near the street of Via Calissano, you\u2019ll find the Church of San Domenico \u2013 a\n Romanesque-Gothic-style building that dates back to the 13th<\/sup> century. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has been restored along the years by the Albeisa family. Today, concerts and exhibitions are still organized\n inside, to appreciate at best the interior\u2019s artistic setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A more typical Piedmontese<\/em> baroque building, the Santa Maria Maddalena Church was built by Bernardo Antonio\n Vittone back in the 18th<\/sup> century. With a large wooden portal that is crossed by arrows, this church is one\n of the more notable ones you\u2019ll find in Alba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Know as the \u201cCity of 100 Towers\u201d, Alba saw the construction of a whole series of towers in a short length of time, to\n protect the city.
