Do you know the Habits de Lumière festival in Épernay? Each year, the capital city of famous Champagne houses, lights up for a long-awaited new edition of Habits de Lumière. What is the Habits de Lumière Festival in Épernay?

Les Habits de Lumière is a cultural and festive project organized by the Committee of the Avenue de Champagne. A major event to mark the transition to the year 2000, the town of Épernay organized the first edition of the Habits de Lumière with the aim of offering magical and free events to put the town in the spotlight.

Each year, a theme is in the spotlight:

  • cinema
  • Swinging Sixties
  • Fantastic machines
  • The World of Jules Vernes

Since then, more than 50,000 people have benefited each year from activities structured around 3 highlights: the festivities on the avenue de Champagne, the Habits de Saveurs and the car parade. A pastry competition for children, food and wine pairing workshops are even organized during the event.

When will the 2022 Habits de Lumière festival take place?

The Habits de Lumière will be held on December 9, 10 and 11, 2022. Long-awaited, this 22nd edition of the Habits de Lumière promises to be joyful and bright for 3 days of celebration in the capital of Champagne!

What’s on the program?

The first two days of the event are generally dedicated to video-mapping on the Avenue de Champagne.

Saturday: Habit de Saveurs

Saturday is dedicated to Habits de Saveurs, a culinary interlude that highlights the gastronomic heritage of Champagne and will allow you to discover dishes created by starred chefs from the most prestigious establishments in the region. They will then be offered for free tasting in accordance with their champagne. You will also be able to observe the culinary techniques of the great chefs and learn more about the particularities of the selected champagnes.

Sunday: vintage cars parade

On Sunday, the early risers will find a parade of vintage cars. The vehicles are on display, it is the perfect opportunity to meet enthusiasts before they take part in the big parade which takes place a little later in the day. Car enthusiast or not, the parade is worth a look!

You will be able to find the detailed calendar as well as the schedules as soon as it has been announced by the organizers.

This is an opportunity to discover the cuvées of small producers or big brands that have made the reputation of the Champagne vineyards, but also the sweets and delicious cheeses of the region.
